Making Changes

I have been overweight my entire life. It's the family curse on my dad's side. Everyone is overweight. Until about 14 months ago I was unhappy and wanted to change, but didn't want to put in the work.
October 1, 2016 I had a dream that scared the motivation right into me! On October 2nd I went to the Cooking LIght Diet website and signed up. Because I have been overweight so long I had tried almost every fad diet out there. I have had a subscription to Cooking Light, the monthly magazine, for almost 7 years and genuinely enjoyed their recipes. A few months prior to me joining I saw an ad for their diet in the magazine and a coupon code that saved me 20%.
Here's how it works:
For a tiny monthly fee ($6.00 when I joined) they will give you a daily menu including 3 meals and 2 snacks. For each meal and snack they give you up to 8 choices! I never got bored or felt like there were limits to my menu. They also provide you with the recipes and a shopping list. When you join you can choose if you want the recipes for 2 or 4 people. They also give you choices if you have a dietary restriction. I have to admit there is a TON of prep work required, but I get my love involved and we knock it all out on Sunday so we can relax the rest of the week.
In March 2017 I joined Planet Fitness. I quickly discovered that I enjoyed going to the gym and actually missed it when I couldn't go. I felt like I was accomplishing something even when the scale didn't move.
Cooking Light DIet saved my life! I found a diet where I was full all day, and I enjoyed the food I got to make. Everything is so flavorful, and delicious. So far I have lost 60 pounds, and have another 95 pounds to go before I hit my end goal. But the best part of this journey is that I am enjoying every step and every self-discovery I have.
