I have loved books for as long as I can remember. The first 'Big Girl' book I  read was Anne of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery. I read the entire book in 3 afternoons on summer break between 1st and 2nd grade. I began writing stories in 2nd grade. My teacher, Ms. Turnipseed, conducted a contest and the class wrote short stories. We also had to illustrate them. It was that day I realized I would never be the next da Vinci. While my book didn't win, I realized how powerful my imagination was,even though my family had been telling me  for years.

I caught the travel bug early. My family wasn't able to afford, financially & time off work, a lot of traveling while I was younger, but when we did go I wanted to learn everything I could about our destination. Yes, I am a planner, but more so that I am curious and new places, people, & cultures intrigue me.

​

Writing my stories is an escape for me. It allows me to travel to places I have never been, but am longing to visit. If real life is a struggle, then I can escape into a comforting scene I am writing. If I am faced with a difficult situation then I am able to work it out with my characters. Although in real life it never works out the same way.

I have a fur-baby. His name is Buddy, but is called almost anything but that! For now, I don't have any children, but I hope that will change. I have one younger brother, and I completely adore his family. My parents are my best friends, and I would rather hang out with them instead of people my own age. I have a lot of close friends, but I have 2 best friends, my sister in law, and April. She lives out of state and I miss her all the time. But when we can get together it's like a day has never passed.
